of Change

The challenges in family planning and contraceptive uptake come at various points and with various stakeholders. Thus the problem doesn’t merely lie in method adherence, rather the underlying causes for why method failure takes place.

Findings suggest, this can be attributed to male dominance, incomplete understanding of one’s own bodies, societal and familial pressures, health system biases, debilitating side effects and skewed male-centered understanding of sex.

The theory of change aims to pointedly tackle these underlying causes to rectify contraceptive uptake, hence making it a couple centered process rather than a prescriptive approach.
